Empower and employ survivors of human trafficking. The simple mission of Freedom a la Cart offers dignity and a hand up (rather than a hand out) through their café, meal service, or catering operation. Served by the free women of Freedom a la Cart, this social enterprise dishes out #causecuisine to be enjoyed either onsite, packaged to take home or have delivered, or sampled at a special event.
Meal purchases provide paid job training to survivors of human trafficking in their own workforce development program.
While catering, event, and onsite restaurant businesses have taken a hit this past year, FALC got creative with their own virtual fundraising event, held mid-pandemic, and blew their fundraising goal out of the water. FYI, they’re holding their next fundraiser soon. Details at Eat Up Columbus | Labor Day Weekend Dinner Party | Freedom a la Cart.
I’ve been lucky enough to attend an event catered by FALC, and the food tastes as good as it looks. Beautiful presentation, seriously good eats, and a wide variety of textures, colors and flavors that run the gamut of palates: either vegan, carnivore, or anything in between.
So when the time seems right to hold an event, I will be turning to FALC. A win/win, supporting a good cause and treating my guests to a fun and festive menu!
