CLIENTS & PROJECTS
Capital Partnerships is a full service government relations/public affairs firm with a national network of high-level relationships critical to successful client representation. I have enjoyed working with CP President Chris Vineis on a number of projects: a federal education grant, a grants department audit, and private capital challenge case statement, to name a few.
I am currently partnering with Scala & Associates on grant writing and research for several of their clients in New England, including a women’s addiction recovery agency, a substance abuse treatment facility, a regional symphony, and the Girl Scouts. Scala & Associates’ President & Senior Consultant Scot Scala, M.Ed., GPC, has served as my mentor since 2011!
Hobby Horse Hill
Hobby Horse Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center empowers their clients to make physical, psychological, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive improvements that promote healthy interactions and a positive lifestyle. I worked with HHH on prospect research, and development of a Case Statement for their general operating grant requests.
Communities In Schools of Central Ohio
CIS of Central Ohio is part of a nationwide network of passionate professionals working in public schools to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. I worked with the Ohio affiliate on grant writing and funder research.
JustWrite Solutions, LLC
JustWrite Solutions, LLC is dedicated to developing the human and financial potential of nonprofits across the country. I was the lead writer for a new client of theirs out of Michigan, working on foundation proposals. Others on the team worked on prospect research. JustWrite has a broad client base and a “virtuoso team,” and I am happy to be a part of it!
As the global leader in digital media for public safety and local government officials, Praetorian Digital helps governments, companies, organizations and citizens keep their communities safe and secure. I worked on prospect research and proposal writing for Praetorian’s first responder and education clientele.
UMCH Family Services is a comprehensive children’s mental health and child welfare agency that helps families stay together, reunify or become new forever families. They work with hundreds of children and parents. I worked with them to find funding for their pre- and post-adoption and treatment foster care services, and to expand their services throughout the State of Ohio.
City Year is an education-focused nonprofit organization that partners with public schools to provide targeted interventions for students at risk of dropping out. I worked with one of their 25 international locations – City Year Columbus – to research funders and apply for grants to support their targeted and innovative approach to increasing high school graduation rates.
CMA creates experiences with great art for everyone! From 2011 to 2016, I worked on funder research, proposal writing and editing, and sponsorship proposals for CMA. I helped win support for their exhibitions, educational programming, art conservation, and more.
Phoenix’s members bring fine art printmaking to their community. As a board member from 2010-2015, my grant application funded their new website, and I organized their first-ever fundraising event. With the money raised, Phoenix has moved to larger, brighter, ADA-compliant studio space in Columbus’ Discovery District[/cs_text]
On Columbus’ South Side sits a majestically classical mausoleum that was falling into decay and disrepair — until the Green Lawn Abbey Preservation Association decided the abbey deserved their love and care, and a spot on the Register of Historic Places. I worked with this all-volunteer organization to create a Development Plan so their resources, time and talents can be put to best use.
The City of Springfield Ohio’s Stormwater Utility Division has engaged me to identify potential funders for their water management initiatives to reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, beautify neighborhoods and parks, and energize their downtown. Their ideas to preserve the environment and address issues that many urban areas face are forward-thinking. My research quickly paid off for them. They were awarded $100k from Ohio EPA to put a green roof on City Hall, and also received funding for a community garden cistern.
Ohio Campus Compact is a coalition of 47 colleges and universities working to promote and develop the civic purposes of higher education. They have successfully piloted a peer-to-peer advocacy program that positively impacts retention and persistence among low-income community college students. I am thrilled to report that OCC was recently awarded an Americorps VISTA grant to grow the program.
Established in 1998, the Miami International Piano Festival is the public outreach vehicle of Patrons of Exceptional Artists, a non-profit organization dedicated to the discovery, promotion, nurturing and support of extraordinary artists. Presenting a calendar full of exciting performances, many never before seen or heard in the world, the Festival has been recognized as one of the most exciting recital series in the world today. I am pleased to have worked with these dedicated people to garner financial support through sponsorships and grants. I also wrote articles and press releases for the Festival.
I worked with the Friends to obtain grant funding to improve their 30-year old boardwalk, include restrooms for the public and safe parking for their visitors. They see 80,000 visitors a year and have no parking, a badly deteriorated boardwalk and 3 Porta-Johns! Click on their logo to visit their website and view the beautiful and unique area of our country that the Friends work to preserve for our enjoyment and the survival of several endangered species.
